Battle of the Consoles
Dreamcast, Playstation 2, and the Dolphin

So far the Dreamcast is winning because it's here right now, the others you are going to have wait for.  It most likely  to stay at a top position, it has 128 bits, some good and memorable games and it will be the first with online gaming.  There is a lot of games in high anticipation such as Shenmue and Resident Evil:  Code Veronica.  In my own opinion,  I think they pushed back the Playstation 2's arrival because they knew around that time was all Dreamcast's most anticipated games were to arrive. The only thing that is a damper, is that I feel Dreamcast's weakest genre is RPGs.

The Dreamcast most competition will be PS2.  This console comes with DVD, 128 bits and you can play your old PSX games on it.  I don't think playing your old PSX games is a big plus because I finished about all of mine and it won't change the story.  A DVD is a nice plus, but its going to be brought for my gaming purposes.  Besides, I've heard the DVD doesn't work that well anyway.  I think what will make PS2 surpass Dreamcast in my mind is it's RPGs.  RPGs are my favorite genre and with the upcoming Final Fantasy 9 and Online ( I think), they couldn't lose in my book.  I mean I was thinking about getting Evolution, but after the reviews, I didn't.  I also think this will be a top contender, but the price could make a difference.

I think the Dolphin is no competition, I am not a Nintendo fan at all.  The games are too childish for my taste.  The only thing that is keeping them alive is Pokemon and that just ain't gonna cut it.  I don't have any details about the system, I just know I'm not going to buy it.  Hopefully, it will have smoother graphics, that was blocky on Nintendo 64 and better games with a rating of teen or higher.  Its funny how Sega sooner or later surpasses them.
